… completely random beauty chat about few (beauty & non-beauty) things loved lately.
Starting with Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa Super Rich Body Cream, that I scored for AED 15.50 (before AED 75/-) at Big B&B sale. A spa product at a drugstore price? I’m not the one to pass. But god knows where was I when the Spa range was launched because every single product smells absolutely awesome! Anyhow, this blue tube knocked me out completely. A fabulously rich, thick balmy body cream packed with Shea butter. What’s not to love! My winter dry skin was dismissed just like that. A no-nonsense hardy body cream with a gorgeous smell. Just grab next time you see it – will you?
Hakuhodo J5521 Highlighter Brush has to be my favorite among the 35+ makeup brushes. I hardly talk about them on the blog. Apart from the quality factor – softness, easy to hold & precise application is all I care when it comes to brushes. And this goat hair brush, fit the bill. I’m so content with the buy & more or so thinking about the worthy investment when I bought a couple of more Hakuhodo’s in Singapore last year. All Hakuhodo brushes are baby soft & particularly love this one due to the versatility & it’s a tapered shape. Mainly use it for contouring, highlighting, under-eye setting & blush. Since it picks up the right amount of product you end up using far less than usual. Overall, it is such good buy for $38/- (available at Beautylish) and will last you long.
Since the time I got back from Christmas holidays, Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer in Paradiso has been the lipstick for everyday. Last year summer release in warm pink, is a perfect spring shade too and wonderful contrast to my long wearing lipstick options. Not going to rub how much I adore the formula as it is the best. Naturally, I’m highly excited for this year’s summer collection. For more details on the lipstick, head to Bubble Michelle’s lipstick review here.
Guerlain Mythic Meteorites Voyage Face Powder was making an on/off appearance in my daily makeup routine. I see it as a finishing powder that works like a Photoshop filter packed (into another) pretty compact and selling at limited edition price. It is supposed to correct all patchy areas, add a bit of glow and mattifies the skin. Post the road test, I can vouch that it does 2 things right. Mattifying & blurring – what you normally expect from a finishing powder? I love that it is translucent. Even on my medium skin tone and doesn’t shed a grey cast as the day goes by & my shiny t-zone kept under control. If you already own a good finishing product or earlier versions of meteorites – you don’t need this at all. Effect wise basically they do the same thing. The compact being pricey (AED 715/-) with a capital P – doesn’t do much difference compared to ex- meteorites powders even to justify the price.
Being a complete sucker for all things Diptyque I just couldn’t say no to Rosaviola scented candle (review here). The sweet rose scent mixed with leather aroma is truly addictive and intense at the same time. I love it more & more every day as it burns beautifully. Already sorted the backups because its a limited edition jar. Get this pretty little thing before it sells out people!
Last but least, 4711 Eau De Cologne Deodorant Natural Spray is fresh intake oppose to usual deodorant roll-ons. This classic-clean, budget-friendly cologne spray is gentle & doesn’t stain clothes. I use it post showering and prior to applying roll-on if I’m heading out. The smell is so damn refreshing and feel like bathing in it.
Hope you all are doing well.
What plans for valentine’s day.. 🙂
