Bobbi Brown Nude Finish 2016 Collection – Review

Bobbi Brown Nude Finish

It’s all about the bare-faced glow this summer as most of designer & high-end brands embracing the theme. And I couldn’t be happier as someone who loves minimalist & dewy makeup. So the moment I came across Nude Finish Collection of Bobbi Brown, straight away purchased 2 products that I thought would be using daily.  First up is,

Nude Finish Illuminating Powder in Nude – I picked up ‘Nude’ since I wanted something very close to my skin tone (see the swatch below).  Overall, the blend of 6 skin-tone shades in different variations is truly a pretty sight but as a product it is a far cry from novelty. Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder

I initially thought this pretty compact is a highlighter. Wrong! It is a multitasker. Super lightweight formula can be used as a setting powder, richer tones (Golden or Rich) as bronzer and to highlight. But I mostly used ‘Nude’ as an illuminator to dust all over simply because it doesn’t highlight the pores and to give more focus on high points of the face.

The moment I noticed it lifts my dull medium skin  – thanks to the peachy tones, I began to slightly pat the powder with a dense brush to set the concealer. Also I’ve swirled all 6 shades and used on the lids too!

Bobbi Brown Nude Finish 2016 Collection - ReviewNo matter how I put the nude compact to use,  the end results were nothing but amazing! What I really like about it more, is that it does simply everything! And that too very softly, subtly and naturally.  It doesn’t look cakey or heavy on top of other products but gives the most stunning glow. I think sheer texture is key here because it lets you work the powder the way you see it and allow your natural skin to shine through. And it’s lasts on top of my combination skin.

Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Tinted MoisturizerNude Finish Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 – Medium to Dark Tint – is a radiant skin like base which is creamy & moisturizing. Clearly a no brainer base product that you could create a fresh, flawless & an effortless makeup looks  that people think look ‘natural’. I feel its best  for someone who is genetically blessed with near perfect skin.

Wash of sheer coverage gives only a kiss of color which is more or so very skin like. While the light layer gives a natural coverage, you could build it up to medium and move on with compulsory concealing.  Since its gives a beautiful subtle sheen when applied you could get dewy finish + coverage by mixing it with a full coverage foundation.

Even though it’s a great base for brighter days and warmer temperatures, you could easily wear it for gym, to run errands & simply at home. Not a single soul will know you are wearing makeup. It’s a great option for lighter makeup days too and a lovely intro-product for teens as well. Powdering is must for oily combination skins and optional for the rest.  I like to pair it with Nude Finish Illuminating Powder for better results but any powder would do. There is only 15 SPF in Nude Finish Tinted Moisturizer, so if you use it during the day, make sure to use a separate SPF with more coverage.

Overall:

Love them both. There are just perfect someone who gives more attention in perfecting skin. Nude Finish Illuminating Powder is my favorite. Why? It illuminates, corrects skin tone, sets the makeup and mattifies the skin. Rather than having 5 different powders to tackle each benefit, there’s nothing like owning just one that does EVERYTHING. It doesn’t give that strobing finish, but you can nail the no-makeup makeup look like pro!

Nude Finish  Illuminating Powder is permanent in the Bobbie Brown Collection. I purchased both the products from Nordstrom.
