CHANEL Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016 – Review & Swatches

CHANEL Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016 - Review & Swatches

I received my CHANEL Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016 order last week and couldn’t be more excited to play with the goodies. To give you a brief overview,  the shade red is the theme of Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016.  Although I love  a good red on the lips, red-eye shadow or red toned blush is a no-no for me! With this idiosyncratic & quirky collection, CHANEL want to change that.

And here’s what I think of the collection & my picks from a first impression stand point.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Qauad in Candeur et Experience

Les 4 Ombres Eye Shadow Quad in Candeur et Experience – does scream special and absolutely beautiful than I thought it would be. Being a neutral eye fanatic, I just couldn’t pass this eccentric warm matte quad. You get to play with 3 brown hues and a surprisingly wearable muted red that stands out. Clearly, it isn’t a subtle quad if you think it is. Though shades seem to be soft on the pan they translates intensely on the lids. The texture is soft, silky, finely milled & matte. But not creamy oppose to Tisse Rivoli if you ask me. It’s actually much thinner & tad bit dense. After wearing it 2 consecutive days, happy to report Candeur et Experience is not just another neutral eye quad. It’s quad that all 4 shades blend in beautifully with each other, where you could build-in the pigment as per your taste and work around  to wear everyday whether its day or night. And that makes it’s the must-have quad in the coming season.

Chanel Rouge Profond (320) Joues Contraste Blush –  is another beauty.  I can’t remember how many Chanel blushes I own and in spite of counting the old ones I had to have this one too. In the pan, it’s a terrifying pink blush. A typical shade that you’d have it in your stash already. Or you don’t. But I think Profound is quite exclusive. It is “pigmented as hell” kind yet remarkably silky in texture & with a matte finish!!  Even though the shade may frighten you, it is easy to wear and very subtle when worn. I used a M.A.C #187 stippling brush for sheer application and gently swept across the cheeks. Results? Rosy-flushed cheeks!! This is indeed the best red blush you’d get away with so don’t write this off from your list just yet. See the #motd photo below.  Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet

Out of the 4 new Rogue Velvet lipstick shades, I was particularly drawn to the darker ones. Both, Vie & Audace are matte creamy textured lipsticks that deliver pigment in spades.  They glide on smoothly & has a velvet finish.  They are gorgeous alone, but you need to pair with a nude eye to give the much needed attention. However, just like any other matte lipstick, these enhance the lip lines & dry patches.  That being said, I do love both Vie & Audace! They are right up my alley not just because they are reds, but the glorious formula & intense color pay off is unforgettable.

Chanel Rouge Vie (58) Rouge Allure Velvet – is a bloody-gorgeous warm red in a berry tone!! Any classic red is my cup of tea and this one too.

Chanel Rouge Audace (59) Rouge Allure Velvet – is a rich burgundy.  Bold but crazy beautiful!! Despite the moodiness that adds to the face I’m so in love with it. I could see myself wearing it with nude eyes, tons of mascara & giving this “you can’t sit with me” look 🙂

Both #motd looks I’ve created using CHANEL Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016 products is too edgy ( & heavy) for my taste to be honest. For everyday wear I would pair a nude lip with the smoldering eye look to balance the heaviness on the eyes. And Vie & Audace lipsticks will be worn with neutral eyes combining all 3 brown shades from Candeur et Experience quad!  Oh, and the Profond blush everyday- no matter what I’m wearing 🙂

CHANEL Le Rouge Collection N°1 Fall 2016 is seriously chic, divergent and surprisingly appealing even with the daunting red tones. What I admire most is how CHANEL has boldly created a collection of products that grant sophistication based on a shade that many women in all ages avoid.

After playing with Candeur et Experience quad & Profond blush I felt comfortable wearing red. I could see myself committing & reaching for the products with love! So there is no reason for you to skip this collection. There’s a good reason you’ll love at least one of the products!
