Many I know stay far away from cream bronzers because the whole idea just sounds like a muddy disaster to them. However, I find any cream-y texture is a dream to work with. Chanel SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL Bronzing Makeup Base is one of them. I have too many powder bronzers but this semi-matte, creamy textured warm brown got me thinking.
Though it is semi -matte it has a lovely subtle hint of shimmer to it. When you look at the product you could see there is a glow to it and very slightly on the skin when applied. The shine doesn’t add grease and neither noticeable.
For my medium skin tone I thought the warm brown would be lovely for contouring but wrong! The color did not show up as much as I anticipated as a bronzer. So I put it to work as a nude blush / bronzer combo (bit of both) after my foundation to the usual places such the temples, cheeks, along the jawline and chin area and it did work brilliantly. The color add warmth to my skin tone but very naturally (you could see in the above picture).
You can pretty much use any brush to apply depending on what your aim is, I’ve found my real techniques buffing brush
to be the best for blending to get an even and natural finish. Having said that SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL is very easy to blend and you are never left with a harsh or unnatural line. I think less is definitely more with this product – start little and gently build up.
Only issue SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL comes in one universal shade. Plus it may not show as anything for medium/deeper and ebony skin tones. Again depending on the time of year and level of tan. However, this is perfect for fairer skin tones. In case you’re in the market for a cream bronzer then Bourjois’ Bronzing Primer
would be a fantastic budget option but I haven’t tried this.
Chanel SOLEIL TAN DE CHANEL Bronzing Makeup Base is sold at all Chanel stores for AED 215/-
