NARS Sheer Matte foundation in Tahoe
For the last couple of months I’ve been trapped in rather a foundation rut. I’ve only been using just 2  of my favorite foundations. This is to everywhere. Every occasion.
So here’s the deal.
1. NARS Sheer Matte foundation in Tahoe
Picked this up mainly because of the word ‘matte’ to fight shine. Ever since I bought this, I haven’t looked elsewhere till Chantecaille launched in Dubai.
It’s perfect for oily-to-combination types. Keeps the shine at bay and offers light-to-medium coverage with a natural finish. Texture is bit tricky. It isn’t creamy but thick. Bit difficult to apply & blend. I’ve always mixed a tiny bit of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (and primer) and applied with my finger tips. Doesn’t look cakey unlike, many other matte foundations! It’s long wearing (8-9 hours straight) and shine is controlled for good 5-6 hours & I only had to blot away my t-zone couple of times during the day.
Somehow I feel Tahoe is slightly darker for me. This is because once the foundation sets in; it oxidizes and looks one shade darker. Syracuse would have been the perfect match – but wasn’t available in Dubai Mall Sephora.

Having said all that – I didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t come with a pump & had to purchase separately. #ridiculous. But do I recommend this? Hell yes. It’s a good foundation that performs well. In case you didn’t pick this up because of the texture – try blending with your favorite primer / moisturizer.

  2. Chantecaille Future Skin® Oil Free Gel Foundation in Wheat

I would rather like to call it the “new found expensive foundation love”. That is what it is. It’s phenomenal, looks & feels like skin, polished finish, light weight, stays long but bloody, bloody expensive.

However, I just can’t stop wearing this. That’s the scary part. Because:
– Wheat is the perfect match. Hallelujah! It just looks as if I’m not wearing foundation.
– The finish. It’s incredible. Gives a very refined look with medium coverage, evens out the skin, covers pores (to a certain degree) & redness and doesn’t settle into fine lines. Plus, it lasts.
– A gel like texture is so easy to apply & blend. All you need is a little product to cover the face

This doesn’t oxidize like NARS but it’s hydrating, doesn’t clog pores, natural and gives a radiant look. But it wasn’t that good in keeping the shine away. I had to blot my t-zone few times.

However, still it’s worth the money. Perfect for all skin types and photographs wonderfully. I’m beyond happy that I finally found a foundation that looks as if I’m wearing none! It is a staple product in my opinion and highly recommends it.

NARS Sheer Matte foundation purchased for AED 229 (+AED 30 for the pump).
Chantecaille foundation purchased for AED 359 at Bloomingdale’s.
