Diptyque Rosaviola Scented Candle – Review

I’m one of those crazy few who pay extra bucks to burn scented wax.

Among the candle-makers, there’s something about Diptyque Paris & their candles that I’m truly fascinated about. I can’t put my finger and say what … but I simply love the brand, the collection of candles, fragrances and a bit of skin care.

Brand’s latest offering Rosaviola collection has been doing good grounds in Instagram since mid January driving entire female force insane. No one can overlook the pink color scheme, cute typography, lipstick motif and the gorgeous illustrations inside the box. And this pretty baby pink candle really stands out among Diptyque’s monochrome design in the most appealing way.

Rosaviola limited edition scented candle (190g) is the main attraction of Valentine’s Day themed offering followed by scented oval, solid perfume, hand cream and re-promotion of EAU Rose natural spray.

As described, Rosaviola is a perfect mixture of rose + violet + leather. The mix is heavenly! Every time I smell it, I’m like “OMG this is so good”, repeat 25 times and back to sniffing.

Surprisingly, the smell of roses is very slight and I get more of violet + leather mixed aroma which is very Diptyque-ish at the same time. When I lighted Rosaviola, entire room filled with a hearty powdery-smokey vibe. It was warm and cosy.  Compared to last year’s very flowery and earthy spring release (Rosafolia), I find Rosaviola to be less floral, musky & rich.

Fragrance wise, it’s another hit for the French candle-maker. However, I don’t find it to be unique compared to Baies or Geranium Rosa which are incomparable and classic. Having said that, I really hope Rosaviola would be a permanent addition to  the growing Diptyque candle collection.

Being a huge fan of the brand I would certainly repurchase.  I could see myself lighting it on a cold, rainy / winter night-in with girls, red wine & Magic Mike marathon. Take two would be: quiet weekend-in with husband, take-away + movie. To me, that’s Rosaviola!  Chilled vibes yet so heartening! Plus it would look chic on my dressing table, make a pretty makeup brush holder and lastly very instagram-ish!

If you have a lusty taste for luxury candles, or not always interested in rosy scents, I highly recommend you check it out. It may surprise you! If not, it’s a beautiful gift idea for the coming Valentine’s Day.

I bought Rosaviola limited edition scented candle (190g) for AED 315/- from Bloomingdales – Diptyque counter – Dubai Mall.
