I picked up a couple of lip covers & a dual intensity blush the moment Selfridges launched NARS Summer Under Cover Collection 2016.
Lip Covers are the new product offering in this collection. The formula is made to deliver rich, opaque (with one application) & intense pigment with 5 hrs of staying power. Unlike a lot of liquid lipsticks I’ve tried these are more on the creamy side and don’t budge. However I find these slip a lot, emphasis the lip lines once dried & difficult to meet an even application. The best method is to apply lightly in layers using a lip brush.
Do not Disturb Lip Cover – is a daring ‘orange-red ‘as NARS as described & a faultless summery lip option. More of what Rita Ora would slay. Even though it looks so good when swatched – orange-red hue isn’t my cup of tea. It’s too bright, loud and find it doesn’t look good against my medium skin. But after seeing how it photographs I’ve worn it more confidently!
For those who love a good orange-red lippy you’ve found one. For the rest whether you like it or not, get ready for some attention. This shade will make you stand out from the crowd. Get Dirty Lip Cover – is a dampen peachy pink. Looks like the perfect warm nude for my medium skin. As you can see it has a demi-matte compared to Do Not Disturb‘s satin finish. Though I received a lot of compliments while wearing this gorgeous nude.
Dual Intensity Liberation Blush – is a subtle warm-toned freaking beautiful blush featuring 2 different shades (shimmering pink + caramel rose). This is a glow-y blush that gives a kiss of color that is easily buildable and easier to blend because of the silky smooth texture. I used a stippling brush for application, looked best when worn dry & lasted 6+ hours on me without fading. Considering the longevity & the easy application I find this compact to be backup worthy. Liberation worn on both pictures above.
NARS Summer Under Cover Collection 2016 is small but very well curated one. It’s bright, sits well with everyone’s makeup agenda’s and most importantly gorgeous. From what I’d purchased, I’m mostly loving Get Dirty Lip Cover & the Liberation blush. Lip Covers are worth considering if you are a liquid lipstick fanatic.
