Spring 2015 Makeup Edit

I’ve been testing several spring releases during past 2 months from different brands. It took longer than I anticipated, so finally here’s the complete Spring 2015 Makeup Edit post. To make your life easier, I’ve categorized the products in the order – best buys, not and good-to-have. This will help you to organize your makeup shopping list 🙂

Guerlain Les Tendres Spring 2015 Collection already reviewed here.

*NARS Spring 2015 Color Collection– is a well edited range intended for nailing natural and flawless look. The concept is very in-trend and perfect for spring. That said, the collection doesn’t carry a single product that suits all skin tones unlike previous NARS collections.  Products are best for fairer skin tones.
NARS St-Paul-de-Vence Eye shadow Duo

St-Paul-de-Vence Eyeshadow Duo (previously reviewed here) in my opinion is the star product followed by Valhalla Shimmer Eyeshadow. Both eye products are highly pigmented, long wearing, glides on smoothly and blends easily without zero fallout. If you are a neutral eye shadow lover then you need both. If you want to make a choice, then Valhalla is the one. The soft shimmering peach shade is beyond gorgeous that works for all occasions.
 NARS Reckless Blush

I also liked NARS Reckless Blush. Not sure why it’s moved into blush category when it performs more as a highlighter. Anyhow, I must confess the sparkles got me thinking. But the quality & resourcefulness of it that really sealed the deal at the end of the day. I used it on my temples, cheekbones and eyelids to fake a perfect glow. It’s a very shimmery product so be mindful when applying. Light application is a must. If you have too many highlighters in the stash –then you could give it a miss – otherwise a pretty good buy.

Least favorite was NARS Guyane Lip gloss,  a cool-toned gloss, definitely a no-no for olive skin tones. It looked horrible on me. That’s the end of it.
*Clarins Garden Escape Makeup Collection 2015 – is not surprise from the brand that does spring collections all year through. The collection is really pretty and was crushing the Garden Escape Eye shadow palette early Jan but sadly turned out to be another cool-toned palette.

Crayon Khol Eye pencil impressed me the most! Soft & easy gliding formula, intense pigment & the unique deep green shade were the reasons. It can be worn alone on the lash line or to line the inner rims of the eyes.

Clarins Blush palette in Sweet Rose

If you are a sucker for pretty pink blushes, then Blush palette in Sweet Rose will be a wonderful addition to the collection. It has a matte shade which sculpts and an iridescent shade which highlights. Finely milled shimmer particles add radiance where as the pigmented matte shade ensures you have rosy cheeks. The end result is natural. Surely it’s a stunner, but the shades look best on fairer skin tones (again).

Clarins Light Lip Balm Perfectors

On the other hand, I’m still on the fence about well-liked Clarins Light Lip Balm Perfectors when the entire world raves about them. Despite liking the concept, there’s something too balmy about the texture and not-so rich pigment that pauses its longevity. The performance was irregular. Not the best lip product for daily wear, but fits for short trips to the beach, running errands or in-flight to avoid dry lips.

Inglot “Fall in Love” Spring 2015 Collection

*Inglot “Fall in Love” Spring 2015 Collection – Early Jan’15 I was invited by INGLOT for a Beauty retreat and introduced to the spring’15 collection. Collection revolved around 5 fall colors that come in eye shadow, gel liners and nail shades.

Being my first encounter with the brand, I was moved by the quality of the products in particular the AMC (Advance Makeup Components) gel eyeliners. Fine Pine (#98) is a lot more intense, pigmented and lasts forever compared to other products. Texture is creamy & opaque. Its water, smudge and crease proof! Super easy to blend and great as a base color too. Overall I think it is a good buy!
*Laura Mercier 2015 Color Story – Watercolor Clouds Collection – was recently delivered to my doorstep. First impressions – Paint wash Liquid Lip Color in Orchid Pink and Face Illuminator powder in Indiscretion instantly saved a spot in my vanity. They are absolutely stunners both quality & performance wise. I’m testing the rest of the products currently and the review will be up soon.
Dior Kingdom of Colors spring 2015 Collection
Dior Kingdom of Colors spring 2015 Collection

Dior Kingdom of Colors spring 2015 Collection – More than the makeup I was interested in DIOR nail polishes. Dior Vernis in Glory (AED 129) is a unique shade more on the watermelon red side and very glossy. Formula is flawless (just like other DIOR polishes) and since it is on the brighter side – perfect for sunny days to come.
