Tom Ford Soleil Collection for Summer 2016 – Review

I’m a Tom Ford crazed. No secret there.

When it comes to this lush brand, I listen to my heart more often than not.  Among many fond memories, Unabashed – Eye & Cheek palette from 2014 Summer collection and  Eye & Cheek Shadow Ombres and the Brow Sculpting Kit from Fall 2015 were the costly blunders I very much like to forget.

With that in mind, I was particularly careful with my selections from Soleil Collection for Summer 2016. Even though “The Afternooner” (contouring compact) and the “Bicoastal” (cheek duo) were love at first sight – I stuck with Purple Noon and Aphrodite Ultra-Rich Lip Colour lipsticks.

They come in brand new moisturizing formula & thinner  texture compared to Tom Ford’s full coverage standard lipsticks in the permanent line. Both aren’t exactly unique shades, very much dupable and only gives semi opaque finish with a single sweep. The creamy texture has shorten the wear time (3-4 hrs max) but the smooth finish is comfortable on lips and more hydrating compared to full coverage lipsticks.

I like Aphrodite (cool pink) for day time. Gives a flush of color. Highly dupable! More of a so-so shade. Not really in love with it. Wear time was 3 hours on me.

Purple Noon on the other hand, is the babe. The wintery wine shade is extremely sophisticated. Throw on some pale pink blush or bronzer, nude eyes and this lip! You’re ready to paint the town this summer. Much pigmented to Aphrodite and wore 4+ hours.

Overall:  From my experience, Tom Ford lipsticks are the best! They are right up my alley but I however not crazy about the new Ultra-Rich Lip Colour formula. Yes it is nice. Not moonstruck! If you love lipstick and a bit of Tom Ford as much as I do – Purple Noon is the #slayer.
