With the rising temperatures in Dubai, I’ve given a miss to makeup & turned my attention on the skin. It’s now on hydrate + protect + prevent mode & I can’t complain much. By switching gears, I’ve found out how to attain baby soft skin, a couple of newbies that are worth the hype, fell in love with new a sheet mask & reunited with 2 raving worthy moisturizers.
I’m talking about “mark my words – you will love” kind of skin care products today. So sit back, relax and take some skin care notes 🙂
Baby soft skin
I love baby soft skin. I mean, who doesn’t? You only need a kick-ass cleanser and a AHA / BHA exfoliant to get there. These are the ones I swear by & part of my weekly skin care routine.
Having the right cleanser is essential. Much better if its extra balmy.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm requires no introduction because it is a cult classic & right up in the alley with my all-time favorites Eve Lom & Elemis balm cleansers. I love this tad bit extra because it just gives you clean, soft skin and promotes natural skin luminosity. I think part of the credit should be given to the dual action professional cleansing cloth. While the muslin side gently exfoliates and encourages healthy blood circulation, the microfibre side (which is ultra gentle) makes your skin baby soft. I’m not sure if you’d get the same results with a muslin / wash cloth.
Second step is to use a non-abrasive exfoliation treatment. I use lactic and hydroxy acid enriched Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant. It is a life changing product that gives you brand new skin. I’ve reviewed it (here) couple of years back and still love it. One of the best from Dermalogica.
Over the years I’ve grown to love Chanel Le Lift Creme Fine & SK-II Essential Power Moisturizing Cream because they give you the photo-ready skin. To me both are legit skin care staples and reach them when my skin lacklustre and overall yucky. Summer is the season I especially feel this way because my combination skin acts crazy and here I’m (again) depending on the super powers of old friends.
Le Lift is one of those products that feels just right from the first application itself & make you go like ‘wow‘. I easily would classify it as amazing & vouch it’s not another ordinary fancy cream! That’s why it is the only repurchased Chanel skin care product in my vanity. I mostly used it as a night cream. The lightweight, non-greasy formula delivers progressive results i.e reduce pores, refines skin texture and overall brightening effect. It’s extremely nourishing, repairs the skin overnight & makes your skin velvety soft and firm. In short, bloody brilliant!
SK-II another fantastic day-time moisturizer & I especially love it for summer. Why? Because the creamy texture doesn’t break me out, nor make my skin greasy. It doubles up as a night cream too.
I’ve never tried an eye oil before till I purchased Odacite (Ba+S) Eye Contour Serum Concentrate. I have no regrets in purchasing this lovely anti-aging eye treatment oil, which also 100% vegan! Dosed with vitamin A (retinol), E (antioxidants) & F (fatty acids) to tackle all the aging issues around the eyes. I used it only at night & saw immediate results. Just after one application, puffiness was much reduced & firming effect was noticed 4 /5 nights after. The oiliness creates an immaculate hydrating barrier so you don’t need to layer another eye product. Because it’s an oil-serum it made my under eye area really greasy post application. So 1 drop is enough for both eyes. Due to the runny texture, there’s a good chance of product getting into your eyes. I did experience this a few times & my vision was a bit blurry for a short while. To avoid, stick to less is so-much-more notion with this potent stuff. Overall, its powerful anti-aging booster with promising results and best for someone 30+.
Travel size of Zelens Z Matrix Energy & Moisture Infusion is my new day-time moisturizer. After the failed attempt with Kate Sommerville Nourish moisturizer (reviewed here), I was in the market for a better one and Zelens restored my faith! Expect bright, energized & hydrated skin all around. I’m totally going to get the full size of this super hydrator enriched with 9 potent ingredients. It simply keeps my skin happy & healthy.
Apart from the mandatory SPF wear, I thoroughly enjoyed using OLEVA+ sheet masks. Among the few I received, Oxygen Moisturizing Black & Anti-Wrinkles Bio-Cellulose masks were crazy good. These are targeted treatment masks which are results oriented. While Oxygen Moisturizing Black was super hydrating & injecting a good dose of moisture after a hot day, Anti-Wrinkles made my skin smooth & tighter. These are quick, efficient, travel friendly and cheap (AED 26/-). I’ll be hoarding them at Sephora every now then. Even if you aren’t a beauty girl then these are must have!
